ChoiceMail is not a spam filter. It is a permission-based email management system that blocks 100% of unwanted email as you define it.

• ChoiceMail creates a “whitelist” of all the email addresses in your address book. Every time you send a message to someone new, ChoiceMail adds them to the list, so it is always up-to-date.
• It sends email from anyone on your whitelist straight to your inbox. It also lets you write rules to accept mail you may want, even from people not on your whitelist. (If elephants are your passion, simply tell ChoiceMail to accept any message containing the word “elephant” and it will.)
• ChoiceMail contains tools that let you send obvious spam straight to the junk box. Unlike spam filters, these tools are not the whole product – just an enhancement to make your life easier. You can also write your own rules to block mail if you wish.
• ChoiceMail does not bother with things like deep header analysis, anti-spoofing, heuristics, or image decoding because it doesn't need to!

The Registration Request.

ChoiceMail quarantines any remaining, unrecognized mail. It automatically sends a “registration request” to each unknown sender that directs them to a web page where they are asked for their name, email address and reason for contacting you. They also are asked to complete a task, which is easy for a person but impossible for a computer. This process alone eliminates most junk email since spammers cannot respond to the registration request.

When a sender does register, ChoiceMail alerts you with a pop-up message. You decide whether to allow the sender to communicate with you or not. You can turn this registration feature off if you wish, but most users love it because it puts the burden of identifying unknown mail back where it belongs, on the sender.

Virtual Email Addresses

ChoiceMail One version 2.52 introduces virtual email addresses to overcome the concern that vendors or automated systems cannot respond to challenges. You can now create new email addresses on the fly and give them to vendors or use them with automated systems. When an email is sent to you through a virtual address, it is automatically approved and reaches your inbox without challenge. The Junk Box.

Unlike many anti-spam products, ChoiceMail doesn’t actually delete blocked mail. It puts it into a Junk Box, where it stays for as many days as you choose. So if you’re ever concerned that you many have missed something important, you can always go look.
