Converting AT&T addresses to work with Comcast
or
Changing your email address and server information

Customers who have addresses at attbi.com are being converted to comcast.net. To convert your ChoiceMail system to work with your new email address, you will need to perform the following operations:

Change your ChoiceMail One settings to receive mail from the new account and send mail out through the new SMTP server.

Change the email address in your email client to reflect your new address Note: it is CRITICAL that you do NOT change the username that is used to log in to ChoiceMail itself.

Section 1)

Changing your ChoiceMail One settings From the main ChoiceMail One window, click on Options | Email account settings

Select each email address that you need to change and update the 4 fields with your new email address, username, password, and source host.

Click OK to return to the main ChoiceMail One window Go to Options | Configuration In the section called "Outgoing mail server" you should see the name of your current mail server.

Press the Delete button to remove that outgoing SMTP server. If you are asked to confirm the deletion, click on Yes. Now press the Add button. You will see a dialog where you can enter your new outgoing (SMTP) host name.

Enter the name of the server given to you by your ISP and then click OK.

Press the Test button to test your new server. If the test fails, make sure (a) that you are connected to the internet and (b) that you have typed the server name correctly. If you mistyped the name, you will have to delete it and add the server again.

Once the test succeeds, click OK to close the configuration dialog. If your old email address will remain valid (as is the case for ATT users switching to Comcast), then you will need to add your old email address into ChoiceMail's alias list so that it knows that incoming mail to that address is potentially legitimate.

From the main ChoiceMail One menu, select Options | Preferences. When the dialog appears, click on the Aliases tab. Type your old email address in the field at the top and press Add to add that email address in as an alias.

Click OK to close the dialog. Your configuration of ChoiceMail one is now complete

Section 2) Changing the email address in your email client

The ONLY item you need to change in your email client is the FROM and/or REPLY address. Please follow the instructions for your specific email client to make this change.

Important: your ISP may have told you to change your POP3 and SMTP server entries in your email client. Do NOT make these changes in your email client. Those changes should only be made in ChoiceMail One itself (see section 1 above). In your email client, both server entries should contain only the single word localhost Your configuration is now complete and ChoiceMail and your email client should now be operating normally.
