Outlook 2002 reports sporadic timeout

Some users of Outlook 2002 have reported that they see a timeout error message when attempting to send out a message. In all cases where we have seen this, the user was running an anti-virus program that supported monitoring of outgoing email messages. We have determined that this timeout problem can be fixed by disabling the monitoring of outgoing email. This problem does not occur with Outlook Express. TechNote Index
