ChoiceMail One and the Webmail Gateway plugin open several ports as part of their normal operation. However, the webmail gateway also opens port 143 (IMAP protocol) and this is unneccessary. If you are concerned about having an extra port opened, you can download a small file which, when installed, will prevent that port from being opened. The file is called noimap.reg and adds a key into your registry that prevents port 143 from being opened. Close ChoiceMail, download noimap.reg and double-click on it to install it into your registry. When you open ChoiceMail again, port 143 will no longer be opened. TechNote Index
