| If you are using Outlook Express or Eudora
and you ran ChoiceMail's Configuration Wizard, ChoiceMail
took a snapshot of your original email account settings
before modifying them to communicate with ChoiceMail.
If you uninstall ChoiceMail, the uninstaller should run
a program to restore your original settings from that snapshot.
Under some circumstances, it appears that that program is
not being run, as a result of which your email application
remains configured to communicate with ChoiceMail, even
though ChoiceMail is no longer installed.
If you have already uninstalled ChoiceMail and your original
account settings were not restored, you can try the following
instructions to restore your settings.
1) Make sure that your email application is NOT running
before you uninstall
2) Use Explorer to navigate to the folder where you installed
ChoiceMail (the default folder is c:\Program Files\DigiPortal
Software\ChoiceMail)
3) Check to see that there is a file called outlookexpressoriginalconf.ini
(for Outlook Express) or eudoraoriginalconf.ini (for Eudora)
in that folder. If you have file extensions disabled, you
may not see the '.ini' part of the filename.
4) If one of the above files was found, double-click on
a program called undomailaccountsettings.exe which should
also be the same folder. If it is not there, you can download
it and save it in the ChoiceMail folder.
5) You will be asked if you want to restore your original
settings. Click on Yes and your original email settings
will be restored.
If neither of the INI files above
were found (perhaps you already deleted your ChoiceMail
folder) then you must reset your email application account
settings manually so that they refer to your ISP's mail
servers rather than to ChoiceMail. |
