If you were using Norton
AntiVirus 2001 or earlier and you upgrade to Norton AV 2002
or 2003, ChoiceMail may stop working.
The reason this occurs is because the newer versions of Norton AV
do not use a mail proxy. As a result, the special email address that
earlier Norton AV applications inject into email applications (and
which are picked up by ChoiceMail when you install ChoiceMail) are
no longer valid.
To fix this problem, you just need to reset the email accounts in
ChoiceMail so that the username and POP3 server names refer to the
email accounts at your ISP. Step
1) Open your email accounts setting dialog in ChoiceMail (from
the main menu, click Options | e-mail account settings).
(picture)
Step 2) Click on the first
email address that is displayed on the left hand side. The fields
for that email address will be displayed on the right hand side.
Step 3) The values for the
POP3 source user name (second field) and POP3 source host (fourth
field) will be something like yourusername/mail.yourisp.com
pop3.norton.antivirus
where the piece after the '/' will be your real pop3 server
You need to change these entries to yourusername
mail.yourisp.com
Step 4) Click the
Test button and make sure ChoiceMail can connect to your ISP. If it
cannot, check the settings and also make sure you have the correct
password. Step 5) For each
email account you have defined, click on the account and perform Steps
3 and 4 above. Step 6)
Finally, click the OK button, ChoiceMail should now be configured
correctly. |
